302 of 365: Cinnamon Basil

While it is starting to bolt, this cinnamon basil still has a lot of green below the flowers. It contains the same chemical that gives regular cinnamon it’s scent and flavor.
It has an amazing flavor and is used in middle eastern dishes. Or even a natural bath oil.

Purple, purple, purple! These pretty little asters are looking pretty happy after the rain yesterday and the sun today.

The filtered afternoon sun hit these branches just as I was putting my camera away. This is the last photo I took today…

299 of 365: Heavenly Bamboo (Nandina domestica)

This colorful little shrub is actually part of the barberry family, not a bamboo at all despite the common name.  The leaves sprout a pink to red color before turning green, then turn red/purple before dropping.

Very pretty plant!

297 of 365: Jimi Hendrix Memorial

“Forever In Our Hearts — James M. “Jimi” Hendrix — 1942-1970”

This Hendrix family memorial gravesite is located at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton, Washington. Although it’s only 10 miles from where I live, today is the first time I’ve ever visited it.

There were several people visiting, but there was a ten minute lull and I was able to grab several photos. Folks had left several ‘gifts’, ranging from flowers to Zig Zag rolling papers to chalk for leaving a message.

I did this in HDR and some fairly heavy tone mapping. It gave me the look I was after… almost postcardish. Today was a pretty drab day and the original looked pretty much like… well… a drab snapshot.

296 of 365: Maddie Advances the Runners

Another try at multiplicity… how fun!

My granddaughter, Maddie, advanced the runners with this line drive down the first base line…

I shot this series from the outfield at 250mm.

295 of 365: Multiple Me’s

So I was walking along the Soos Creek Trail and ran into this motley looking bunch. They wanted a photo, so what could I do… I obliged!

I’ve been wanting to try this for some time now. Several photogs at DPS have done it and it always intrigued me. So here’s my entry.

I do need to give kudos to Indigo – www.flickr.com/photos/artofindigo/ – for her recent multiplicity photos… and the inspiration!
